Why our Aerial Yoga Hammocks?
This is the soft, silky, and incredibly durable fabric as used in aerial silks in the Cirque du Soleil. LOW-MEDIUM Stretch, 40 Denier Nylon Tricot. Our hammock is wide enough for a 6'2 person to lay completely in the fabric as seen in the first photo.
Now available in hand-dyed ombre colors! PLEASE NOTE: The ombre yoga hammocks are hand-dyed meaning that each hammock is unique to you. Mandala print repeats approximately every 2 meters. Each hammock may have slightly different color tones and every hammock is a work of art. For instance, Purple Blue ombre has pink tones, and Yellow Green ombre has teal tones, and Sunset Ombre may have bronze tones. Larger sizes are available upon email request!
Our yoga hammock fabric is lightweight and breathable, but very strong. It's safe for users up to 400 pounds/180kg and is used in professional yoga studios across the country. It has a LOW-MEDIUM level of stretch so you feel safe yet cocooned.
Aerial hammocks are cut to order and require up to 4 days of processing time. If you need something by a certain date, leave us a "note" at checkout or contact our team for assistance prior to order.
What size do I need?
Sizes vary depending on preferred hammock height. Here's a reference for hip and low height hammocks. Remember we tend to use about 1.5-2 feet/.6 meters of fabric in aerial knots, but we get some of that height back depending on how you rig your daisy chains (doubled over or lengthwise).
Please note: the longer the fabric, the more difficult the height will be to adjust. If using in a studio setting or somewhere you will need to adjust the height often, consider getting a shorter fabric (7 yards or under) and using additional rigging to provide extra height.
- 8-10 foot/2.5 meter-3 meter ceiling height = purchase 5.5-6 yards of fabric.
- 11-foot/3.3 meter ceiling height = purchase 6 yards of fabric.
- 12-foot/3.6 meter ceiling height = purchase 7 yards of fabric.
- 13-foot/4 meter ceiling height = purchase 7 yards of fabric.
- 14-foot/4.3 meter ceiling height = purchase 8 yards of fabric.
- 15-foot/4.6 meter ceiling height = purchase 9 yards of fabric.
Our industry-standard 5 Meters, or 5.5 Yard hammock sets work in areas up to 10 feet and can be hung at a high or low height depending on preference. If you like flexibility with your rigging point and enjoy low hanging in a low swing, we recommend this.
Our slightly shorter, 4 Meters, 4.4 Yard hammocks are great in shorter spaces. They are portable and the perfect size for at-home practice. All hammocks are 2.4-2.8 Meters or 9.2 feet wide, so you can stretch out in the fabric. Prints and ombres are narrower, and solid colors are slightly wider.
Always measure out for your own ceiling. This length accounts for fabric only; if you are using rigging equipment that takes up more space, you may need less fabric. Need longer fabric? Contact us for something custom.
How can I hang my hammock?
Rigging should always be completed by a professional rigger. For yoga, daisy chains can be wrapped around a weight-tested beam, a swing set, or professionally installed ceiling bolts. Check the mount every time you use this hammock to ensure the rigging is secure and the hammock shows no signs of damage or wear. Aerial fitness can be dangerous, so exercise caution and always check with a doctor before use. Do not iron your hammock.
Since there are many different types of overhead environments, Uplift Active cannot provide instructions on how to rig a hammock in your space. Not all environments are suitable for aerial rigging. You must hire a licensed contractor, or professional rigger to examine your space and determine the proper hardware for safe installation and use. Uplift Active is not responsible for any injuries or harm caused by the improper installation or use of this product.
